Because of emissions limits - Lada stops exporting to Western Europe

Lada mother Awtowaz stops the delivery to Germany. For fans of the brand but at least one model should be preserved.

Lada retires at the end of 2019 for the time being from Germany and Western Europe. The reason given by the Russian Awtowas Group is the upcoming environmental regulations, which no longer correspond to the Lada models. But the brand is not going to disappear permanently, the return to Western Europe with new models is at least planned. The necessary technology could come from majority owner Renault-Nissan.

The German Lada importer in Buxtehude has also announced that it intends to import the SUV 4×4 on its own and to adapt it to the local requirements. The Allrader, also known under its old name Niva, enjoys stable popularity as one of the cheapest real off-road vehicles in Germany and has regularly attracted around 1,500 buyers over the past few years. Conversion considerations are also available for the small car Vesta, but nothing is decided yet.

In Buxtehude around 35 employees are affected by the Awtowas decision. Add to that the Lada dealers, who usually have other brands in the program.
